The coolest thing with a straight is when you decide to shave off your playoff beard. One long swipe and instantly one cheek goes from grizzly Adam's to junior high. Can't do that with a mach 5.

That's how my sideburns get shorter -- accidentally. Then its like evening the legs on a chair
I keep my sideburns earlobe length.
I don't have to worry about depth perception as much.
You guys are great! Thanks for all the humorous respones.
Want to improve your technique? Shave the wife's legs. You will really focus! I don't like to get water in the pivot of any of my western straights though (tub shave) so I use one of my kamisoris. Do yourself a favor: round the corners just a titch on a mirror. And watch behind the knees! She'll like the badger as well...
Have fun.
Lol, you can’t damage a goatee/beard too fast with anything but a straight - anything else will hang and pull so you stop. Not so a well-honed straight, it will take it all off and you won’t feel much at all.
I have a goatee and use a straight every day, no problems past my first couple of months getting the goatee/mustache even, if fact it’s very good for that.
Cheers, Steve
