Default Taught a kid how to use a straight.

I was joking with my sons best friend about his rotten neck beard, and I asked him if he wanted me to show him how to clean that up. He said yes, and I was shocked. He asked me if I would show him how to use a straight razor, and I whipped out the old Elliot and some proraso and I let him shave a few stripes on my arm first. Kid took a hot towel and then did a fairly admirable job of cleaning up his beard.

I may just have to send one of my extra blades off to Outback for a sharpening and give it to the kid as a graduation present.

    Bravo.

If you teach a poor young man to shave himself, and keep his razor in order, you may contribute more to the happiness of his life than in giving him a thousand guineas.

It used to be a time honored tradition to teach your boy to shave, hone, strop, wear cologne, etc. Congrats on passing something along.

What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
