I face lather exclusively and generally have no problem with watery lather even doing 4 passes as long as I have loaded the brush with enough soap in the first place. If I did not load enough I simple go back to the puck for a few more swirls of soap so it is not watery. Whatever is left in the brush at the end of the shave gets rinsed down the drain.

I do know that some members will squeeze what is left in the brush out to put on top of the puck instead of rinsing it down the drain.

Iused the sponge method again today. I sure like this! And when I'm finished shaving, I now use the sponge to wash and wipe the excess lather out of my bowl with no mess! Even the wife unit likes this idea!

A friend recently suggested this after he had to deal with my Razor when I caught it on the tap . Works a treat

When it comes to removing lather from razors, James Joyce's Ulysses is great:
" Buck Mulligan frowned at the lather on his razorblade. He hopped down from his perch and began to search his trouser pockets hastily.

    —Scutter! he cried thickly.

He came over to the gunrest and, thrusting a hand into Stephen’s upper pocket, said:

—Lend us a loan of your noserag to wipe my razor.

Stephen suffered him to pull out and hold up on show by its corner a dirty crumpled handkerchief. Buck Mulligan wiped the razorblade neatly. Then, gazing over the handkerchief, he said:

—The bard’s noserag! A new art colour for our Irish poets: snotgreen. You can almost taste it, can’t you?

I use one of our hand towels, usually a clean one. I also use that towel to dry my face and wipe down the sink. I usually only sr shave once a week, so I'm not using that many towels.

I use folded up toilet paper to wipe the lather on. Pretty sure the sponge is a far superior idea, I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

After getting chewed out by the wife for fing up washcloths and hand towels I use these now. Mostly just to wipe the razor dry after running it under the faucet. I don’t want water running down into the pins.
