A swish in a filled sink for me. Toilet paper a a drop of oil when it’s all finished.

I do raise lather in a bowl - actually a double walled stainless thing I got for $3 at a local thrift shop.

I leave the excess lather in it to give the bathroom a residual lather aroma. With most shaving soaps/creams, that lasts a couple of hours.

I use a simple, reliable Kleenex; it works well.

Bob, I've been using an oversized sponge for awhile. I leave the sponge dry, but what does the trick for me is to put a damp paper towel on top of it, wipe the lather off on that wet paper towel, and at the end of the shave, it goes in the trash. Saves the drains.

I just leave the tap running gently to flick my brush under when I'm lathering and wet my blade before starting my first stroke then just rinse the lather off the blade under the running tap every few seconds. I find it feels better to shave if I keep the blade rinsed off and dont worry about dinging it on the tap because i hold it still under the flow untill it's clean.

I have always used my normal bathroom wash cloth. I usually shower before I shave, but if not, I use the wash cloth in HOT water to soften my whiskers. Otherwise, I wet the washrag in hot water and fold it in thirds, which leaves a slender rectangle the width of the washrag. Then I lay it on the front edge of the counter top next to the sink and use it to wipe the lather and whiskers off the blade. When finished, I rinse off the whiskers and lather thoroughly, wipe off my face and clean up my shaving mug and the sink area. Rinse thoroughly again, then lay out flat on the counter. After a cold water face rinse, I apply alum bar to my wet face and let it stay on while I give my razor a touch-up stropping (15/25 linen and leather). Another cold water face rinse, wipe with the wash rag, rinse thoroughly and hang back up for the next time. No problem with dirty towels or upset wife!!

    Yup.

Saves water and keeps the soap from clogging my drain.
