    Man, that sucks Steve. That's a very Florida type of problem. Houses don't have basements in Florida because they fill up with water without even having a storm. Also, you can't drain your swimming pool here because it will either crack and fill with ground water or the shell will float up out of the ground. In a lot of places. If you dig a hole or then a foot deep it will fill up with water.

    I dont know what happens here if they empty an in ground pool, they seem to take out about a foot of water for the winter, ice i always imagined then top it off again in the spring.

    I live about 5 minute walk from Lake Erie and its very flat round here, it has to be there are greenhouses as far as the eye can see because this area is the tomato capital of N America.

    Amway we are close to the lake so the water table is less then a foot, the sump is permanently full of water and if the level rises the pump kicks in - assuming the power is on!
