I am curious if this happens to anyone else - every day when I shave the dimpled ridge right under my nose, I sneeze like crazy for a short time afterwards. Every day, without fail!

yep, gets me every time.
I wonder if the spine of your razor is touching the tips of the hairs in your nostrils, which tickles them and makes you sneeze?
It could be some connection between the philtrum (that's what that place is called) and the sneeze center of the brain (if there is one), too. I sometimes think we're like old houses, the wiring takes some funny turns. Same thing happens if I look toward the sun on a bright day, all of a sudden I want to sneeze.

In a similar vein, I always have to cough after shaving the right side of the Adam's Apple! Sometimes I have to whip the blade away fast as I can feel one coming on.

At the risk of getting too far off topic, it is sometimes called the "achoo gene" (much longer second article links to the first much shorter):

Anyway, I know about this because my wife always sneezes exactly twice going out into the sunlight and I poke fun at her for it almost as consistently.:w

And if you happen to possess that dominant allele, you can forget about being a pilot in the Air Force!
BTW, your wife is lucky. I sneeze three times almost every time!
Back on topic. I've never heard of the lip tickle causing the sneeze. That's a bad combo with a straight. You could accidentally perform a philtrumectomy!
