Does anyone have Rosacea?

I've been fooling around with different shaving creams, aftershaves and razors trying to find a comfortable shave. I've always had a red complexion, and when I was younger, I would definitely blush easily.

I recently saw a dermatologist. The last time I saw one was for teenage acne; now I'm interested in being screened for skin cancers. I got a mole removed.

And it turns out that I have mild Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea. One of the things to avoid is alcohol, both ingesting and topically. The list of "triggers" of rosacea also included witch hazel, which I've been using. Does my beloved Geo Trumper Skin Food contain alcohol? I'm trying to figure out what products in my arsenal are "good" and which are "bad".

Does anyone else have mild rosacea? What do you differently in your shaving routine because of it?

I do not have rosacea, but have very sensitive skin. I've had some very bad skin reactions in the past from products with alcohol in them. For aftershave I use Nivea after shave balm, and the one for sensitive skin. It is alcohol-free and is very soothing to my face. I would suggest something like this, or any after shave lotion that is known to be alcohol-free. As far as my shave routine goes it's not any different, just shower, lather and shave. I also use shaving cream from The Body Shop, and I find it to be very gentle. So if I were you I would definitely avoid any and all products containing alcohol, since it and sensitive skin do not play well together.... :chop:

I also have sensitive skin. I use aloe straight from the plant. I figure it can't get any more natural or fresh than that.

Unfortunately if you look at commercial aftershave preps and balms I think just about all will contain either alcohol or witchazel. You might try some of these shops that sell "natural" products or look into making some stuff yourself.

I have a very mild skin condition on my neck (not Rosacea). I like cold-pressed Aloe the best.

I also find that stress aggravates the confition. And if I take any fish oil capsules, the acne-like symptoms get worse.

The heck with it. I'm growing a beard!

Burt's Bees aftershave seems to be clear of those ingredients.

My wife is allergic to parabens, among other things, and I'm not allowed to use anything that she's allergic to, just in case she decides to touch me. Burt's Bees products are always good.
