For me it seems that the center to tip is the most used. (I'm mentally shaving here, and that appears to be correct)
;)
Definitely the first 1/3 of the blade. I do use other parts but no where near as much.
Front 1/3 the most... some for other places... but I can't really say I ever get much from the heel
Middle mostly, a rounded face probably makes that happen. But obviously there are places where you have to use the tip, and a spot or two where the heel comes in handy.
I'm wondering if subconsciously you end up using whatever part of the blade is sharpest more?
Maybe my answer--the heel--wasn't really accurate to the question. I chose it because the heel is the part that I'm always trying to use. That is, I favor the heel wherever I can manage it.
In practice, it's probably the middle of the blade getting the most actual use.
I went with the zamboni choice..but I really mostly use the middle and the tip so about 3/4 of the blade
I use which every part of the blade reaches the area to shave best. I shave w/ just my right hand so I make use of the tool at hand to the best of it's abilities. For example, left side gets the toe on the sideburns and the right side gets the heel. The toe is used to style my mustache, all parts of the blade on my chin, middle on my cheeks and parts of my neck as well as the toe and heel on my neck depending on the neck contour and angle of attach I can maneuver. At times you may think I am using the Zamboni approach but I like to think I am putting some thought into my shave. CarrieM tests all of my edges when I finish honing them. It makes here very nervous to watch me shave my chin and other tough spots. Maybe she thinks I will be putting some body parts on the sink. :D
I went with the Zamboni choice... that is what I usually intend to do... the result is more like the first 3/4 of the blade... but I never really paid more attention to it
I voted "different parts of the blade for different parts of the face," but I think it is likely that the middle of the blade still sees the most use.
