30 minutes and that depends on my mustache. Sometimes it just does not want to fall in line.:)
Generally speaking, from the time I start running hot water over the scuttle to the time I'm rinsing the leftover lather off the scuttle and brush, about 20 minutes every morning. On the weekends I'll take some extra time to go even slower and enjoy it that much more, so maybe 30 minutes. In a speedy rush I could cut it down to 10 or so, but I'd rather make the time to do it right.
I used to be a 20 to 30 and now I'm finding it to be 10 to 20. I'm not in any more of a hurry. I guess I am just more efficient through daily practice.
I voted for 10-20 and 20-30
If I include stropping which i do before i shower as my kettle heats up then its more like 30 but if not then like 15 ... shortere if i only do one pass...im still a newbie and i dont shave my chin or lip...i keep a full goatee
A bit under 10min, but I have my razors all stropped up, everything laid out, the brush soaking in hot water and it's right after I get out of the shower. The time also doesn't include the 2min of cleanup.
These days, I have it down to 18-20 minutes.
Pabster
depends on how many passes I do. 1 pass with minimal lathering and a quick rinse is around 9-12 minutes.
4 full passes with relathering and restropping halfway through, plus uber-lather creation and post-shave facial pampering is more like 33-37 minutes.
I can get through a shave in 20min, but I shave at night specifically to relax & take it easy, so my time from slapping on some Pre/Post to walking out of the bathroom is usually around 35-45min.
Only 15 voters so far, but I suspect that 10-20 min's is going to be the winner. In fact, for me a quick straight shave is 10 min. A relaxed 2 or 3 passer takes about 20 min.
I lather in the shower and I only shave with one quick pass most days.
4 to 6 minutes daily
From the time I step into the bathroom to the time I was out is usually about a half hour.
I don't mind that at all, I very much enjoy it actually.
If I need to shave quickly then a one pass effort can be done well under 10 mins.
Thanks for the responses guys, keep them coming if you can. Newbies and experienced alike! I'm assembling data for a little project I think some of you might appreciate. Mum's the word for now though.
Dohh the only 80+ yet.. That's with prep. (shower excluded) and 3 pass shave to get that BHS (baby hiney smooth) skin. But the thing is I took almost an hour to shave with a mach 3 so considering that it ain't too bad.
Counting face prep and stropping, about 25 mins wtg, xtg and atg. If I do one good wtg pass, probably 15mins
I know I'm a bit late on this poll, but I have a question for all those that picked 15 minutes or under.
For those that say they are stropped, prepped and shaved in that period of time (and I'm not accusing anyone of being dishonest) are you going for the basic WTG and touch-up, or is it the full meal deal 3-4 pass BBS shave?
BTW - IF I did a once over, probably around 15 minutes for me. Of course I never do, so including additional passes and touch-ups I'm most likely in the 30+ min category. I like to take my time and enjoy.
10-20 minutes here. I always perform 2 wtg passes.
im still new at it and therefore a bit slower but 25 min seems about right including a hot towel and pre stropping and heating up my brush.
i voted and saw someone takes 80minute. he must be swimming hehehhehe
Same here. I did about 30 minutes today. By the way, I set up this poll so you can vote more than once. If you allow for longer times, or surprise yourself with a quickie once in a while, please indicate this. I'm very grateful for the response to this and the other poll. Thanks for your help!
I always do the full "program": Pre, stropping, 3 passes (wtg, xtg, atg), after shave, and it always take me about 25-30 mins. I shave at night, so i'm not in a hurry. Before i started to use a str8, i used a DE, and with it it took me about 15-20 minutes.
I'm growing mutton chops. I shave in the bedroom, at the side of the window, only in sunny days and once or twice a week. Preparing a cup of perfect coffee and listening to a full CD are part of my shaving ritual. So 45-60' for me. :D

So 32 days and 3 hours later, razor has still not touched cheek. Man, this straight razor shaving sure takes a lot of time. :rofl2:
Well, better late than never I guess!
I usually shave at night so that I don't make any bloody mistakes by rushing through in the morning. The whole experience, from shower to end, is almost an hour. I count the shower time as beard prep, for sure, then followed by the shave.
I have less than 10 shaves under my belt, which most likely accounts for the long time in front of the mirror, but I don't mind it a bit!!
I usually only do two passes to reduce irritation, but even with three or more passes with a straight, I get less irritation than just one pass with Fusion. Can't beat that with a stick!!
Okay, I timed myself last weekend. Leisurely Sunday shave, 2 passes with my usual ATG touch-ups here and there, a bit of experimentation (not much): 25 minutes. I did take a bit longer than usual so I guess I could shave some extra minutes off of that (pun intended). Not as long as I originally thought.
Sometimes I even impress myself :rofl2:
I take about 20 min, I find I hit a "wall" so to speak where I know that any farther will just cause pain, so I've learned to stop there. some shaves are better than others, today went really well with just a few rough spots left. I do a WTG, partial XTG and partial ATG, and I only leave my bottom lip, soul-patch area,
