I shaved as a young man in my late teens but college was too much of a distraction. Didn't shave much then anyway. I've always HATED shaving.
Started straight shaving again one year ago and loved it as much this morning as I did last summer. For me, lots of factors are involved: tradition (2 of my rotation of 3 are my dad's old razors), the scents of the soaps, bay rum, the satisfaction of bringing a razor to "shave ready" and getting a shave far closer than I could expect from a disposable blade, and the all-important quest for the elusive "perfect shave".
Wish my beard grew faster.
