The worst cut I have had - and that is only a superficial slice that stopped within a few moments with some styptic pencil and ice cold water - was when my youngest daughter unexpectedly banged on the bathroom door while I was shaving!
The second was when I did not stretch the skin taut, and let a little ripple of skin build-up in the front of a moving blade edge. Eventually, that can cause a cut. My tiny scars are virtually unnoticeable. Nicks from zits and the like usually disappear when you rinse your face with cold water.
Shaving with a straight razor demands your full attention and focus, but rewards you with the closest shave you will ever have! It drips Testosterone, freaks-out your friends and lovers, and places you in very rare company, most of whom are here on this site!
Go for it! You will get a shave, and NOT a self-sacrifice!
