Thread: Daily Shave with STR8 Razor?

I'm shaving seven days a week with one of my straight razors.
WTG + XTG + ATG + WP(as needed) = BBS

I shave every day with a straight. I also have a DE but the longest lasting shave I have with the straight.

Every day whether I need it or not. With my electrics I had to shave thrice daily, with the cartridge razors it was twice, with the DE it was once or twice if I had a date that night, and with the straight I'm still smooth in the evening. No idea why the straight gives longer-lasting shaves, but once you've gotten the hang of using one, it will.

+1 on that! It seems that shaving with a straight delays the onset of the "I need a shave look" by anywhere between 12 - 36 hours for me. However, the wanting to shave is 24/7!

Gentlemen,

For me, it's a straight razor shave every day, although once a month, or two, I try to skip a day just to give my Hollywood face a rest.

Otherwise why deprive myself of one of life's joys by not shaving every day?

I straight shave every evening when I have the time. Once in a while I do a quick morning shave if I miss the evening shave the day before or I just miss the shave. I probably can go 36 or more w/o a shave but feel more comfortable after 24 hrs.

I shave with a straight razor every day right after I shower. I came first to wet shaving with a cartridge razors then a DE,but when I started to learn the straight razor I stuck with that alone. Early shaves were not on a par with DE shaving but with practice they got better and better. Finally they equaled then surpassed cartridges and DE's. So now when I want to shave it's with a straight razor and it's a pleasure to boot.

Every day with a straight. I have found as I progress along this adventure, that as I got better at shaving. My shaves last well into the night from a 5am shave and my beard grows very fast. When I go out at night I will sometimes do a single N-S pass and call it good to go. I like shaving and it gives me a chance to really clean up and put on cologne and my lady love it.

I am in a constant battle with Hair, it is grows fast,thick, and is everywhere.
It must be eradicated, it must be conquered!......Sorry sometimes I can't control myself!

Grayness of hair has pretty much done away with my afternoon shadow. It's now more of a late in the day silvery halo gracing my face.

I don't shave every day (maybe 5 times a week) but when I shave, it is with a straight.

Never shaved twice a day -- hasn't seemed necessary. But it never did no matter what I shaved with. I do get "5 O'Clock shadow" but simply live with it.
