me too!:rofl2::beer1:
I want one as well!!!
I spent a couple months in istanbul and got a shave at the local barber whenever i could. 45 minutes of haircut, shave and scalp/ body massage for a dirt cheap price. I got a little freaked out when he took out the flame, but it was the most amazing customer treatment I have ever recieved anywhere. that alone would be worth the trip back.
yeah, i definately want one too!
WOW!:dropjaw:
How cool!

That's impressive! I'd like to check that place out.
I told you before, in Germany you can go to those places everywhere.
A full treatment (without haircut) costs around 8
double it for the mens haircut.
I used to go to turkish barbers solely for getting my hair cut.
But I never tried the shave.
Did you see the boar brush he used? You can buy those for 20 sometimes ;)
really good and cheap stuff.
Sometimes you get the flaming thing just for getting your hair cut.
Itīs very... interesting!
Fire shaving is fascinating but for most folks it's probably one of those "Do not try this at home" things. :hmmm:
What was he doing with the wire thing, right after the flame juggler part of the act?
For some reason I read the title as "I want a Turkish slave" which reminded me of college and this turkish coed (mechanical engineering) I knew. Good times, good times...
I'm in, looks like a relaxing ordeal
I think it would be relaxing having both a Turkish shave AND a Turkish slave.
Great, now I have to locate a Turkish friseur to get a Turkish slave... err shave :rofl2:
Wow! Who said customer service is dead. That looks great.
WOW!! Full on MAN PAMPERING I want some.
The wire thing is a quite complicated technique.Quote:
What was he doing with the wire thing
The wire is put very closely to the skin and twisted,
so remaining stubbles get caught and thorn out of the skin.
You can see, itīs quite painfull but adds to the smootheness, I guess
There are women's salons here in Atlanta that does this using thread to pluck eyebrows. It is a middle eastern thing instead of tweezers to pluck them out. I saw a piece on one of the local news shows about this and several other techniques for eyebrow shaping. Of all the methods compared the thread technique produced the best, longest lasting results. Kind of a pre-Epilady thing.
the subject of "threading" has come up a few times here... I keep trying it with dental floss (what i'm told works) except all I can find is waxed floss.. I hear you need unwaxed. Any lead on where to get some?
A knave shave from a Turkish slave would be a fav(e) about which to rave, or my name ain't Dave (which it ain't).
I do not like green eggs and ham........ And the answer is yes. I do have too much time on my hands. :D
so is the flame actually burning off any remaining stubble too? And if so is he igniting something on the face, because it seems like with each pass the flame is larger??
---In High School my buddy burnt off his beard with rubber cement and a lighter, said he has never had a smoother shave!:dropjaw:
Anybody know what does the flame torture accomplish?
It's used to singe off the fine hairs where you don't shave higher up on the cheek and ears.
