Well now that's my area of expertise...
I have a few on my face, and one on my neck where I shave. The ones on my face are somewhat flat, although you can feel them. They are more like small lumps, mostly under the skin. I just pull extra tight in those areas and lightly make a few passes and it does just fine. On my neck, it is one of those tiny ones that sticks up like it's just standing up on to of the skin, and I just avoid it with the str8.....so far. I've had a few of these over the years, near my armpits of all places, and occasionally on my shoulder and they'd get raw when I played a lot of golf, what with swinging the club and carrying my bag on my shoulder. I had one or two of them removed, and after seeing that they basicall just snipped them off, I took care of the rest myself when they popped up. I just sterilized nail clippers in alcohol, grit my teeth, and it's gone. They haven't returned. After a couple of days with a band-aid and Neosporin, all is well. I'm probably going to take that one off my neck as well, after a few pints of Guinness.

Just numb the area with ice. Alcohol thins the blood and you'll bleed more. It's one of the reasons tattoo artists won't work on anyone who's been drinking. The other reason is it clouds the judgement, which is why I always think it's okay to have a few more after I've already had too many.
