One side sharper than the other??

So when I was shaving today, doing my second pass, I tried shaving against the grain on my neck below the chin. I usually encounter tugging issues shaving ATG, but I try to work on it a little each shave so I can get it better. Anyway, to my surprise, ATG worked great, pretty much no tugging at all. Then I flipped the blade over and tried to do the other side of my neck.... massive tugging. I was using the same angle, the same pressure, etc. but for some reason when I flipped my blade over, it wouldn't shave.

Is it somehow possible for one side of my edge to be sharper than the other? That seems like it wouldn't make sense... Perhaps my stropping favored one side of the blade? I can't understand why my blade would act this way. Any ideas?

Instinctively, without realizing it at times, I started working slices and such "not straight forward" motions into my shaving. Possibly, a smaller factor in the "good on one side" and "bad on the other side" results might be related to technique such as this.
