Default And Thank You, Mr. Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple

    Gentlemen,

I have said many thanks today. After all, it is Thanksgiving. Yet I must also give my special thanks to the artisan who was specifically responsible for creating my glorious Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple square point.

I call him Mr. Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple.

As a rule, I rotate my modest collection of 15 straight razors. Yesterday and today I made an exception and shaved with my Filarmonica. I could not resist the temptation, especially today, since it is a day of special thanks.

Much has been said about the Filarmonica, mostly good. Some have praised the blade and criticized the plastic scales. Many have shaken their head at the high price of the razor in today's market.

For me, gentlemen, the plastic scales are perfect. I like the weight and the feel. I love that creamy gray color, with the Filarmonica harp emblem and the name in green. The blade, of course, is gorgeous. The price, well, is part of today's reality. Yet I feel it is no more expensive than some of the other razors I have — and love.

On the first stroke of the blade yesterday, I thought of the great Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, one of my favorites, and one who more than any other composer defines the Spanish spirit. I don't know why I thought of him. Perhaps it was because I love his music, which for me also reflected my razor.

I love my Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple square point.

The shave has a silky sheen. For two days I shaved with a blade that slid up and down my Hollywood face like a luxury liner sailing on a sea of elegant foam. What a wonderful shave, delivered by a wonderful razor.

I can't say enough good things about my Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple square point. It has quickly joined the top three shavers in my little straight razor kingdom. The other two are the Thiers-Issard 6/8 Spartacus with creamy white bone scales and the "Dreadnought" point and the Thier-Issard 5/8" with king wood scales and round point.

Also my thanks to the Vintage Scent, and to Bruno for his masterful honing.

So Happy Thanksgiving, Mr. Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple. You have made me a perfect straight razor.

    Regards,

    Obie

Couldn't have said it better myself, Obie. I feel the same about my Filly #13 Doble Temple square point (black scales and I like 'em)... Just a damn fine razor.

    Agreed.

I own two. I'm not sure why I felt the need for two, but, well I don't need to make excuses for this group.

I also don't mind the scales. Frankly I think the color of the scales on mine, one red, one white, is much better than most and the quality is at least equal. Just great razors.
