I am wondering if anyone uses face powder/talc after the shaves. My barber wrapped his hand in a cloth and dabbed my face with powder after he put the aftershave on me.
How many of you guys actually use talc or powder, or is it just a barber thing?

I use it now and then. Not too much as it has a scent and I am trying different colognes.:o
Never! Clogs my pours and acne follows for me.
That's a little too metrosexual for my tastes. I draw the line at aftershave.
I thought they stopped using talc because it caused cancer or something like that if you inhale it in.
Before 1973, some talcum powders contained asbestos. Now, by law, commercially availbe talc products must be certified asbestos free.
There is no known cancer risk associated with talc inhalation. However, talc is strongly suspected in some types of ovarian cancer. See Gertrg DM, Hunter DJ, Cramer DW, Colditz GA, Speizer FE, Willett WC, Hankinson SE. Prospective study of talc use and ovarian cancer. J Natal Cancer Inst. 2000: 92:249-252.

I am a barber in vegas @ 1 of the casino barber shops and shave between 12-20 men a day.I always use talc after i use after shave balm (i never use an after shave splash)the talc used sparingly leaves the face w/a nice mat finish and absorbs any excess balm used to moisturise the face after the shave.
I'm going to do everything I can to protect my ovaries.
Elkutta, are there any tricks of the trade that you would be willing to share with us to get better shaves? Shaving that many men a day has surely made you an expert on str8 shaving. Thanks in advance for any info you share.
