man, that's tough for me. coming up my neck and checks is hard. kinda sliced my ear a little tonight. it's hard to judge the angle of the blade and keep it there, or whatever. it just feels like your gonna slice skin.

Well there are the obvious thought:
Make sure your beard prep is done right and you've done a WTG and a XTG pass first.
Good lather and light pressure should give you the glide you need without cutting yourself too.
There are some less than obvious thoughts too:
Keep breathing easy. Constricting your breath will cause tension throughout your body which you don't need.
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your knees slightly bent. Same reason as above.
Finally, try employing Creative Visualisation. That should set you up well for each individual stroke.

the angel is fairly easy to do , just lay the razor flat on the skin and go, adjust by lifting a little bit if needed. ATG will be very uncomfortable if the razor is not sharp enough. Do not forget to stretch
I ventured into ATG once, now I just do 1 WTG and 2 XTG(in opposite directions) and I dont think there are any whiskers left for an ATG pass. The day of my ATG pass was probably the most uncomfortable day of my life, and ive had a few.
