I was wondering if its easyer shaving yourself or someone else? :shrug:
The reason I am asking is if I could shave one of my friends (when i get the total hang of it )they may like it,and in turn start doing it as well, hoping this will create more of an intrest here with friends, sharing ideas,reviewing products etc.
Well... the nose kinda gets in the way, but it's easier because you can use your dominant hand the whole time and move around the chair to get the best angle.
It's important, though, to use a chair that can recline, or else it will be pretty miserable for the other person. Assuming you don't have a barber chair, you can use your recliner, berkolounger, or Laz-e-boy... ;p The other thing you might be missing that a barber shop would have is a towel steamer (God, I want one of those... And they're not prohibitively expensive). You can throw damp towels in a plastic baggie in the microwave, as long as you make sure they aren't too hot.
So, it can be done! But it's a very different experience from shaving yourself.

because that would not take much to convince my friends. theyed be in that chair in a heartbeat. :D

I thought that the cardinal rule of straight shaving was NEVER consider doing it without pants on. Would you really allow your girlfriend to do something you would not do yourself? :p

Rule 1 - the only rule: No pants or towel over the attachments, no shave. PERIOD. I'd rather go unshaven than lose my bat & balls!! Think about this: if your razor can cut a hanging hair, what will it do when gravity and velocity helps it a bit? Speed equals mass X resistance. The heavier the razor, the more easily it'll sever!! That spells eunich!!!

Ok, I am starting to wear towel, after a year shaving in my birdthday suit... And, Rich is right, it does grab your attention a bit ;)

I always make sure I've got a towel wrapped around my waist. Shaving naked is like skydiving without a parachute. Actually, probably more like rock climbing without any ropes, since you have a good chance of coming away unscathed, but are always at risk. The one or two times I've forgotten to cover up my man parts felt like I was standing on a ledge of a very tall building or something. In those scenarios I put the razor down in very slow motion. Heh heh.
As for shaving other people, I've shaved my little brother a couple of times. Pretty well, too. Whoever made that comment about the person's nose is right. When you're shaving your own face, it's as though it doesn't exist. But on someone else's, it's like a pilon you've got to try like hell to avoid. A much different experience.

I guess it depends on what part of your anatomy you are shaving...

I've shaved the wife a couple times. It was tricky getting her pits right. The legs were a breeze.
I shave my F.I.L. regularly. He doesn't complain.
I prefer to shave myself because:
1) I can feel the razors pull or slide on my skin better
2) I'm free to pull my skin however taught needed
3) I don't have someone else "helping" me by moving their head, face lips in a manner that's counter productive.

6) I'm already used to my own breath, so I don't gag when I'm up close and personal with myself :p
7) If I cut myself I don't have to apologize over and over
8) I know how my whiskers grow and which ones are coarser than the rest
9) I don't flinch in fear whenever I bring the razor to my face
and the biggest reason I prefer to shave myself is
10) I don't ask if I'm gay every time I mumble "ooh yea baby" after each stroke of the str8!
