For sometime I have been wanting to know if I would need some diamond spray or paste of some sort..now I had a few minutes with my digital camera and ask It has been almost 6 months am "inching along" and getting better ;-)
Incase anyone is wondering which blades I have
and wonder which paste or spray would be right..(pictured) I have a black 3" Latigo strop double sided from SRP

Pastes are great, but I wouldn't paste that strop, especially if it's your primary, one and only strop. If you have the means, SRD sells paddles, which are great for paste, especially the four sided job they sell, or they have the fabric only strop. They also have the Wool Felt which is made for Diamond Spray. I would get their wool felt with the cotton herringbone second. Get some .50 diamond spray for the felt, and some Chromium oxide for the cotton.
If you cannot, try and find a cheap strop on the classifieds or elsewhere to paste...Some guys use newspaper or make some out of balsa wood...
So just leave the strop "as is" and continue using it properly?

didnt you just have these honed by max?
Yes my only strop...yes max honed and fixed up all my razors..I have had my double sides strop ever since I had my first razor almost 6 months ago

If that's your only strop, don't paste it. Get a secondary used leather strop and paste it instead.
Or you can get a modular paddle strop and diamond spray the felt module and paste the smooth leather module on that strop.
Just my 2 cents.

Nothing wrong with paste or spray on that strop Per se.
The thing is, if that is your only strop, then you will be left with no daily strop.
Buy another strop or paddle for that.
You are not in need of strop paste
If it were me, I would buy a cheap linen strop and put a paste on there to use separately from your normal strop. I am a huge fan of the yellow stone compound to put on my pasted strop. I use it all the time since getting it about three months ago and I love it. It makes an edge very smooth to the skin and adds keeness too, I like it a lot more than Chromium Oxide.
