My wife asked me if she could shave me with my straight last week and boy....DO NOT LET YOUR WIFE SHAVE YOUR FACE!!! I gave in and said ok honey you can today as she kept bugging me every since the beginning of this year when I bought my Zowada blade.
She almost cut me. Don't know if she was doing it on purpose! But heck, never let you wife touch your blade!!!!!!!!!!!
give her a break.. shaving someone else isn't as easy as it seems.. she just needs a little practice.. perhaps you could one day have your own personal barber.. that's what i call living.
Show her the Project Coochie Razor thread. She shaved you, now see if you can shave her. If she says "no," at least you never have to worry about her asking to shave you again!
Hahahah. I like it hair free down there so she got laser hair-removal treatment.

Should have let her shave her legs first, then she would have some experience.
My wife shaves me periodically, but I can't say anymore (she's a member here).
She does great though. I think her shaving herself helps though.

I have my wife shave the back of my neck after I give myself a haircut, but she flatly refuses to do it with a straight.

If it was the first time she had usad a SR you got away lightly! Utopian and Nun2sharp have both made good suggestions, hehehe. If your wife is that interested, teach her how to do it properly or better yet, buy her a SR of her own:DQuote:

Listen to nun2sharp and Silver; let her get used to the pressure and angles and feel of a straight on herself first, and then let her try again if you're up for it.
Your first time using a straight should never be on someone else. :)

My opinion is to never shave anyone else with anything and never let anyone shave you except yourself. I think it takes as specific set of skills in order to do this right without killing the other person. Skills that I think are better left to the barbers.
If she almost cut you then I have to say she wasn't trying too hard to filet and release.

It took my wife a while but she finally ditched the plastic crap and drafted an old GI issue 1940's Gillette Tech 3 piece. Don't know that I'd ever let her use the straight on me. I have however shaved my daughter's legs with a straight (at her request) and I can confirm that shaving someone else is really, really weird (even if you know what you're doing). Remember the straight razor scene from The Color Purple? Pretty ballsy move by Danny Glover's character. Pimp slaps his wife (resulting in a bloody nose) rants about her being ugly, stupid and useless, then requests a straight razor shave from her. I'm pretty sure if I ever pulled such a stunt, my bride would be all to happy to give me a Filipino Haircut (ear to ear!) with my shave.
I offered to shave my sweeties legs and she told me to shave my own instead.
I would never let anyone put a straight to my face unless it was a professional barber (which I'll probably never do either, cheaper to do it myself). I am trying to get my wife interested in shaving her own legs using a nice mug of cream and a brush. We'll see...
My gf won't let me shave her legs, even though she is the one who really pushed to get me to use straights.
I'll take the suggestion from you guys to have my wife practice with the straight on her legs. Then maybe a couple weeks later, I'll let her try my face again

My girlfriend shaves out the back of my neck and she's good at it. I rarely get nicked and if I do she has a great way of making up for it.

If my wife had laser hair removal for me, I'd happily let her shave me and wear any nicks and cuts proudly and with a smile :)

Zowada needs some sharpening now. Have to teach her now how to sharpen it :)
Depends on the wife. My beloved has 40+ years experience as a beautician and while she has not yet shaved me, I plan on doing so in the near future.
