If you shave after your shower, why not make your shower no longer than four minutes. You'll save water and time. Four minute showers are the norm for many of us (Well the conciencious ones) who live in this water strapped country.

Don't focus on getting faster, as mentioned it will come.
Focus on doing it right. As you learn technique and consistent approach on what works, you will evolve doing only what works. You'll then skip the redundant steps that may be taking you longer right now.
You have your whole life to use this skill, don't short yourself right now.
If the extra time is needed, shave at night. If extra practice and time is needed, also shave at night, but again in the am one pass. To save prep and clean up time, face lather with cream from a tube.
The clear water pass...
I can do one WTG pass and one clear water pass and get almost exactly the result I want...
Nothing fancy on the lather, straight from mug, to brush to face, this however is just "shaving" I enjoy the fact I can do it in less than 10 minutes... BUT I would rather take 30 minutes and make my Uber, and relax with the multiple steamed towels, and the ice chilled towel after, and three slow prefect passes...
That is a Pleasure not just shaving :D
Why would you want to hurry a corfortable shave,If Im in a hurry I use a vintage DE.
+1 to all Glen said. He put into words exactly what I was thinking. I've been practicing fast shave routines, and the time savers have been in the preparations and all things luxury. I don't find it a very good idea to rush the speed of the razor itself, it is way too sharp to be careless or sloppy about it.
1) Don't use pre and post shave products
2) Use cold water
3) Strop your razor the night before instead of before you shave
4) Use creams instead of soaps
5) Do only one pass
I think that should save you some time.
