Hair under the skin.

So I currently have 3 ingrown hairs that are driving me bats! I went after them with tweezers and I am shocked at how long the normal hair is at skin level. It seems like the hair is rooted at .25" the hair that coms out is really long.

Hair that is shaved to the skin seems to go another quarter inch to the hair follicle. That is long!

Hi Shoki,

Hairs grow indeed from a long way under the skin. You said you used tweezers, I hope you only pulled the hairs out from under the skin and not out of the follicle.

It can:
- Damage the follicle, destroying it's ability to make new hairs
- Snap off the hair under the skin(= another ingrown hair)

I get them all the time and they hurt and are a pain. I pull them with tweezers. If not they will become very painful and continue to grow under the surface of the skin. They have become less frequent since I started with the straight razor (fall 08).

I yanked them all the way out. They are hard to see so I was after everything in the surrounding area. I'll watch the video and try to be more careful next time.
