Glad you've found some success. If you're a budget minded guy like me (read: poor) then you might check the classifieds here (in the menu bar above) or whippeddog.com for razors that are ready to roll right out of the shipping box. Whippeddog also has a good starter strop kit that's on the cheap.

Glad to be of help. For kicks I just got on and saw that his inventory's pretty low right now. He never has a ton of razors, but usually between 8-12 that he's honed up for new guys to learn to shave on. Since he's doing a trade-in program he may be struggling to come across cheap razors he can hone and sell. All the new guys buy them, but I doubt many sell them back to him!

I'm starting to get better straight shaves, and find myself missing the cuts and the zip that the Styptic pencil gives me in the morning. So every now and then, I go back to the Shavette just for the fun of it.
What kind of masochistic nut job are you!?! Just kidding. Though I do think it's funny how many times I run across guys looking for an aftershave or alum substitute that carries a little zing. I'm poor enough in my technique that I feel zing without putting anything on! But if I really wanted to hurt myself and make me think twice before shaving again; I'd splash on some plain old Stetson aftershave...plenty of alcohol to bring the burn!Quote:
