Looking for a good chopper. I will be my last purchase for my rotation. I have 2 other Dovo's
Thiers-Issard Sheffield Silver Steel, Blond Horn, 7/8
or
J. A. Henckels "Friodur" 8/8 Razor Half Hollow Ground Square Point - Black Handle

Both will be great shavers once honed, but I'd go for the TI. Its way prettier! :)
Did you say it would be the last purchase for your rotation? You're kidding, right? Heck, I'd get 'em both and start saving up (and making up the requisite excuses) for the next one.
Both blades are real nice!
I haven't tried any Thiers Issard blades yet(although that is very soon to change)
I have, however, a Friodur, and that is one of my top shavers.
As the previous poster, I like the clean lines on the Friodur, so I would probably go for that.
I kept going back and forth between these two same razors this week. Actually, I ended up getting a Hart Steel spike point instead. I just got it yesterday from Classic Shaving. I've only had a chance to look at it so far, and I'm very impressed! I'm going to shave with it today.
It is all personal Preferences.
I would choose TI any time without thinking.
Personally, I prefer more substantial grinds in anything above 6/8, so my vote would definitley be for the Friodur! Besides, I'm not sure but I don't think they're making them anymore...
I'd go for the Friodur. I just shaved with my "new one" this morning, and it's great.
There is no choice .... you have to buy them both. ";"
