i rinse it, put it down blade open, relather, commence shaving. just like everyone else apparently..
I wipe off the water, fold it, and put it in this little bowl off to the side. Not enough sink real estate to do anything else.
i was wondering cause everytime i put my razor on the counter blade open i have a vision of it jamming into my hand and having to explain to my gf why the bathroom has a new crimson paint job. lol.
I close one eye and bite it between my teeth I swing from my strop and rub my face across the towel as I go!... But if I am lazy I just set it on the counter on a dry towel.
I rinse it, wipe it and then hold it in my right hand while I relather with the left hand.
I never set it down, I'd be too scared a knocking it off the counter top or slicing myself by mistake.
My cats like to get in the bathroom as well and I wouldn't want them anywhere near it!
I shave only with my right hand i wipe the blade on wet cloth when im shaving. Between passes tho i just hold my razor with the left hand and lather with my right.
I dont rinse between passes i just put more lather on and go so holding onto the razor for another 20 seconds seems like no big deal to me.
I don't get my blade wet. I use a towel to wipe and have no trouble removing all of the lather before setting it down on the wiping towel. I will ocassionally forget to close it though, but always on the towel. I also will tend to my razor and put it away before I tend to my face after a shave. I am a little particular (read: insane), but I have done very little damage to my daily shavers because of which.
I rinse it off, dry it off, strop it, close it and set it aside while i lather up again.
I am similar to Basil and deighaningeal while shaving once I pick the razor up with the left hand I don't put it back down. I shave only with my left hand and I don't rinse my face between passes. I reapply lather with my right hand. After the shave I rinse the blade completely and wipe it down with a dry towel then a couple laps on pressed wool, couple more on leather and then the razor is away before I do an rinse to my face.
I keep some of my hones under the bathroom sink so they are handy if I ever need to quickly touch up a razor. I use a piece of drawer/cabinet liner under my hones when sharpening to keep them from sliding around. This piece of liner remains on my countertop and I use this liner to put my razor on when shaving.
