Does anyone here, strop mid-shave?
I shave both sides of my face, to have a non
soapy surface to stretch, then I give
the razor a quick stropping.
After that I tackle my chin and upper lip.

I don't, I just strop at the start and then afterwards to clean the edge.
I've never needed to strop mid shave but if it works for you keep doing it!
tboyer,
I strop briefly between passes (ca 10 - 15 laps); This is more through habit than for any tangible reason :)
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
Every person is unique with their techniques and rituals. If it improves your shave for your facial topography, by all means, stick with it. I do a 60 lap pre-shave strop and I am good for the entire shave. If it's not broken, don't change or try to fix it.
Many great shaves to you!
I do at times, especially when the razor's about ready for honing.
'Not an expert here, but I can think of 2 reasons to strop mid-shave. One - that the edge is due for a touch up and needs the extra help. The other - that it was honed extensively to obtain great keenness, and the edge is so fragile, it doesn't last through a full, multi-pass shave. I've stropped mid-shave for both reasons.
Nothing wrong with stropping mid-shave, you have to do what you have to do. But you may find that with more experience those mid-shave stropping sessions will thin out after awhile.
I have certain razors that seem to need a little stropping between passes. I basically do a WTG pass, then hit a few areas XTG, then ATG. Certain razors, generally the Sheffield steel ones (??) do better if I give them 10-15 laps on the leather before that ATG pass. They shave great, but seem to need that little boost in the middle. My others are fine all the way through.
