How often do you advanced/experienced shavers nick yourself?
How often as a beginner did you?
Time period it took to where you were not getting the high number of nicks and cuts?
And for fun: The worst gash you have ever experienced or seen from SRS?
I think you will get very different answers on that question:)
I started with a feather DX, disposable straight.
That thing cut me more often than not.
It did, however, teach me about pressure, or lack thereof.
The first 3-4 months I got a nick or two every now and then.
Nowadays I don't get them anymore unless I get sloppy or disturbed while shaving.
I have a bump on my chin that will weep a drop of blood from time to time if I'm not really careful, but I haven't nicked myself in a long time. Of course, I shouldn't have said that and naturally will pay for making that comment. Such is life and shaving with something that makes scalpels seem dull.
Not too many nicks over the years, but the ones I have had have been fairly spectacular. I still have the scar on my left cheek from that whacky old dovo (since deceased - had an accident with a hammer...).
The best one I ever did: We went on holiday and I took my big 8/8 Friodur. First morning of the holiday I was shaving my head. I cannot remember why it happened, but about the 3rd stroke in I cut the top of my forehead above the left eye. A big 2 inch cut, right where everyone could see it. Only superficial, healed in a week or so, but bled a lot at the beginning.
Have not really cut myself like that since - I think something like that focuses the mind. Nowadays it is more small weepers or rash from shaving tests on badly honed razors...

When I first started, it looked like someone threw a cat at my face...Now, rarely.
Cuts or nicks have become kind of rare these days. Once in a while I'll pull out a particularly wicked Chandler spike and catch my left ear lobe, other than that the bloodletting is limited to the occasional weepers.
A tiny nick every now and then but nothing serious in many years. I rotate razors a lot so I never get that intimate with any one so I'll pick one with an extended spike for instance without realizing it and wind up with a red mark on my neck or a tiny nick near my ear.
A couple of minor nicks at first, no worse than I had experienced with a DE, one or two worth mentioning and pretty much nothing to speak of since. I realized how long it had been since that was a concern when my wife asked, as we were heading to our daughter's wedding (which I was officiating at) if I had shaved with a straight that day or dug out a mach 3 to play it safe and I realized that it hadn't even occurred to me.
I sometimes take the top off a little spot, but actual cuts are rare maybe once a month or less and that. None have been anything more than a bit of a line and its always of I'm not concentrating or rushing. There were a bit more common when I was starting but only a bit.
I read about the blood baths some guys experience when starting out. I feel for them, but at the same time I'm glad it didn't happen that way for me. I've had a couple bleeders here and there, but I could easily count on one hand how many times I've had to use the styptic.
Nowadays I might get a weeper or the odd nick, but not very often. Every SR shaver will donate some blood at some point, but in all honesty I think the danger of shaving this way is generally overstated.
I'm at my one year point this month and just nicked myself on Monday. I would guess it's been about three months since the last one. I can only remember three this year.
Neither of my razors have been honed since I bought them last October and November.
I haven't nicked myself since about........dammit! I knew I shouldn't be posting and shaving at the same time!

Gentlemen, I have cut myself twice, once with a 4/8" Hess 44 and again with a 5/8" C-Mon. I've divorced them.
the first couple times, I cut myself once or twice each time. then I didn't cut myself at all for a month... then I cut myself 6x in one go. haven't cut myself since. *knock on wood*
more often than i care to admit.... this is 3 nights ago... in bathroom making ATG pass.... 100 pound rottie thinks she needs to see what daddy is doing = longer higher cut..... then 115lb rottie thought he needed to see what daddy and sis were doing = smaller cut on neck....
now i put them in the bedroom while i shave....

I have been on straights since Christmas and it was around 6 months before I stopped nicking myself regularly.
Probably 2 months since my last little nick.
Once you are comfortable with your regular strokes and stretching routine then it becomes second nature.
As a novice I started only a week and a half ago.
my 2nd shave gave me stubble halfway through the day, and I decided to strop my 4/8 Boker xtra hollow grind with green paste
the stropping was very succesfull I might add.
The morning after I gave myself the smoothest shave ever!!
the only drawback is that I nicked my right cheek.
there is a nice, almost horzontal, inch-and-a-half scar showing now.
have been very carefull since!
butit hasn't put me off to SR shaving

I'd have to say I probably nicked myself about every other shave my first month, but none that were real bleeders except for the first time I touched my Genco's square point to my earlobe accidentally. That bled real good.
I have a really sensitive neck and will get a weeper or two every few days, but I can't remember the last time I really nicked myself. Though last week, around 3pm I looked myself in the mirror and discovered a red line below my side burn. I'd shaved in a hurry that morning, remembering an early meeting half way through my shave. I remembered touching the blade to that spot and it not feeling quite "right" but that line didn't show up until much later, and was gone within a day.

Rule #1: the blade is boss. respect the blade.
If the blade is in your hand, focus on the shave. I have been straight shaving since 2/2011 and had a couple of nicks in the first months. Now i only nick myself if there's a zit under the hair and i don't happen to notice it. One time i sliced myself good...wasn't paying attention as well as i should have. blade to the face, turned the head ever so slightly.....i actually have a small scar from another one. Other than that, these days it's mostly neck irritation that bleeds some..like speckles.
Very few, knock on wood. I did have a couple of weepers this weekend, a couple of raised pores. I figure after a couple of shaves, I'll level the skin and be done with them. Sometimes I think it's mind over matter. I have had the blade bounce a couple of times and felt like the blade cut the skin, but no blood. I think it's better to have a sharper blade than a dull one; move with confidence, not too slow, not too fast.
