About my tenth shave
Ok, starting to get into the routine of wtg first, rinse, re-lather and get the atg and then hitting the still rough spots with atg. Stopping I assume is working out too as each time the razor cuts well. I have some origins pre-shve oil on the way. I tried to remember one of the pre-shave oils someone mentioned on this forum but could not. They used a three letter abbreviation. Anyone have any ideas.

I've used Trufitt & Hill pre-shave oil, Proraso pre-shave cream, and made my own pre-shave oil (Grapeseed, JoJoba, and Olive oils). To tell you the truth, I don't find that any of them have been helpful when using a straight razor. If I apply too much oil to my beard, my lather tends to breakdown as well. Use your oil sparingly!

Thanks, I will work into it to find the best results for me.

We're about equally inexperienced! I'm still working the oil thing out. I know I don't like it on my sink. Can't really tell if it helps, I guess time and experience will tell.

I tried shave secret last night. It was better, but not the earth shattering change I hoped I would see. Trying Origins oil tonight.
