Using a straight razor vs waxing for legs

Hello everyone! I am new to this form and have not used a straight razor. I currently wax my legs myself which takes me forever. However i like it because my legs come out more smooth, and i dont have the problems that i had with the regular razor. I used to shave with a regular razor but found that I could still see the dark hair through the pores, my skin got extremely irrated with razor burn, and the hair would grow back in 1-2 days. I am Italian therefore the hair is thick, and dark. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion about whether the straight razor would help or if I should stick with waxing. Thanks :)

Waxing probably would last longer and being that your hair is dark would most likely be less noticeable than shaving. The only reason I say this is that a straight razor removes the hair at skin level or slightly under it. With the regular cartridge or disposable multi-blade cartridges you are most likely seeing ingrowns and irritations due to the fact that the first blade really just pulls the hair up and then the following blade(s) cut the hair off below skin level. Even with a straight razor the hair would grow back within a couple of days. You should just see much less irritation and ingrown hair. The only real way to tell is to try both methods.
