Silence usually. I shave while everyone else is still sleeping. If I'm shaving later in the day for some reason it's not silent and I often have a less than stellar shave, but the noise is usually kids running around.

Pre kids and wife I shaved in silence, post kids and wife I put on some tunes to drown out the background noise, and I make sure to lock the door then double check twice to make sure it's securely shut.
No chance of shaving in silence around here, the radio is always on, there are usually at least two grand children here singing, yelling, screaming and laughing, their grand mother is either telling them off or laughing or singing along with them, the dog is barking, and our neighbor flies a top-dressing plane.
While background tunes (of any flavor) do help settle the focus issues of the ADD mind, I tried music a few times and always end up shutting it off so that i can get the auditory feedback of the shave. I like hearing the sound of the brush change as it loads up, and of course hearing the whiskers lopped.
But then i'm alone with two dogs and rarely shave every day. I don't know if i could have ever used the SR back when there were three little women in the house. I'd had to shaved out behind the shed or something (and i do have a mirror/stand for that!)
Also I tried honing with music, no good. Need to hear the stone and blade "talk" at my level of development.
Usually I'm up early so I have a quiet shave. When I do shave in the evening, still in silence.
Usually use my shaving time to clear my mind and focus on the day ahead.
Silence helps me with both.
I always have the radio on.
weekdays I listen to CBC Radio 2
Saturdays I listen to classical music on CBC
Sundays are usually a late start, so I often have a football game on the radio...
Summer time I listen to baseball.
Always listen to the weekly Economist.
Silence .... maybe I'll try it with music next time :)
I have a singing razor. Lol
