Nice one!:rock:
I would stay away from that area for a few days.
Trying to shave over a cut that wide could slice off the swollen flesh and increase the healing time and more than likely yield a visible scar.

Thanks. It's healed now, that was actually about a week ago- just now got around to posting it. I had a nasty scab with whiskers growing out of it for a while. I was sitting in a meeting and must've bumped the scab because I had the awkward moment when the person across from me is trying to discreetly tell me "hey, you're bleedin' ".
I'm thinking I might get myself a DE for the occasions when I need to shave with company.
I think I got one of the most stupidest cuts. So I have been using a shavette for the previous 6 weeks and have switched to a Revisor 6/8 for about a week and yesterday I managed to deeply cut my right ring finger! How? By closing the razor! I can believe how stupid I was. I respect the razor in preparation, maintenance and shaving. But I was stung, or rather cut after the shave had completed. All in all this has made me show better respect to the straight as I was becoming rather cocky at how good I was at straight razor shaving considering I am a complete novice...
Respect the blade
it looks scary
CA glue: it's not just for finishing . Did this number this morning. Didn't think it would ever stop bleeding. I applied a very thin coat of CA glue to seal things up. It's a common practice In the ER. Now I can at least get out the door w/out bleeding down my chin. Attachment 185473
CA= superglue, yes?
I am surprised reading here some shavers never cut themselves... It's become kind of a hobby of mine. Reading the posts the other day someone talked about cleating the blade on their forearm, well.. it bleeds less than the face..qed
Cheers
Light the fires and burn the tires. styptic pencil ,aftershave and then TP. Feel the burn . Pain is a wonderful motivator. See post #701. CA works but not nearly enough pain to invoke a mental /physical change in habits. That with not being able to take part in the routine/ ritual of the SHAVE. hurts worse than the cut.
Funny how fast an inanimate object, especially a sharp one, will remind you that it is to be respected at all times.
So far the worst I've clipped myself has been a razor thin strip just deep enough to make a thin red line on my cheek. It's been a while since I've even gotten that. Usually I get it from getting into a rush and touching the blade to my cheek a little too fast with a little too much pressure and maybe a slight bit of motion lengthwise. I suppose it's rarely worse because the feeling of a cold razor blade prodding at freshly exposed nerve endings is quite unique and brings me to an immediate halt lol.
