Another has this happened to you tale?

So there I am shaving and my wife is sneaking around getting dressed in the morning trying to be very quiet so as not to disturb me and we have a closet adjacent to the dressing area by the sink where I shave and as I'm trimming around my ear she comes charging out of the closet, smacks the door into my back causing me to impale the razor in my ear and then comes out of the closet looks at my ear and the blood streaming down and says, why honey you cut yourself. Luckily no lasting damage and the blood eventually stopped.

I think I will add another shaving axiom to the bigspendurs axioms of shaving-If the are any people sneaking around you while you are shaving you can be assured to be hit, jostled or otherwise placed in harms way.

The incident as it happens at Dave's house.

"why honey, you cut yourself"

"why, no dear!" [he said enthusiastically]

"Ive discovered the joy of pain induced endorphins! can you slam that door into me again?!"

ROFL, Seems that poor razors or rubbish technique is not the biggest cause of claret pouring down ones face. All i do is lock the door on the bathroom when i shave and if she wants to come in just start waving the straight around they all ways seem to turn around and walk back out the door :roflmao

Locking the door (something I do btw) is still sometimes not enough.

After educating my girlfriend on the importance of not bursting in to grab a hairbrush while I'm shaving, i was enjoying a nice quiet shave one morning - totally immersed in the zen moment while she tiptoed around the house doing whatever she was doing.

I was suddenly snapped out of my perfect shave by her tripping while walking past the bathroom, and throwing the ironing board she'd being carrying against the door with a massive crash. :eek:

I honestly jumped a foot in the air from the fright, and put a 1" slice in my cheek. :cry: :cen

I wasn't in a particularly good mood after that - and shouted more than a few rude words, I guess it was funny though looking back at it. :roflmao

It's nice to know I'm not the only person who stops people coming into the bathroom while shaving.

I had to ban my gf from the bathroom while I wasd shaving as the funny looks she was giving me were really off putting.

She keeps talking aswell which I kept telling her wasn't a good thing when I've got a VERY sharp blade on my neck.

In fact, it's now the only time I get to myself where she can't distract me. Ah, the piece and quite is lovely :roflmao

Yeah trying to talk when shaving does not really help the situation, and is it only my G/F who stands in the doorway leaning against one side rolling her eyes back and forth, I now try and take at least a couple of hours over shaving as this seems to be just an excuse to get some relaxing time to my self. (Tangent coming) Just last night my girlfriend asked me if she could use a straight to shave (no not her face :thinking: ) but does that mean we have to share shave time, pfft i don't think so.

As for you GF using a straight: it'll make her appreciate the care and time you spend on your face. Be glad that she hasn't offered to shave YOU.
But these days, shaving is the only moment of the day that is truly and absolutely mine, and I enjoy it to the fullest. I wouldn't like to share shave time.

Buy her an e-bay special and teach her how to hone/strop. That way she'll have one of her own and appreciate the effort/skill that goes into it.

I usually shave late (2-3 am). Otherwise I do lock the door to the bathroom - even when I strop.

women and razors - sexy, very sexy. BUT not on my own shave time! Only as an additional perk during the OTHER time :roflmao

I COULD comment on trusting a honemeister with your woman but my far better half reads these forums from time to time and may decide to go through with her threats of using one of my razors for amputation practice :eek:

This is where there is now a bolt on my bathroom door. But of course it's happened to me. Really, I don't think you want anyone doing anything else in the bathroom while you're holding a razor sharp blade to your face.

I started a shave once while my wife was in the bathroom with me, now she wants to be as far away from me as possible when I shave. So now from the time I turn on the shower till I exit the bathroom no one bothers me.

So my five-year-old has this basketball-hoop bathtub toy, one that sticks to the wall with suction cups. We fill the net with all the plastic balls, and just leave it up between baths.

So one day while I'm shaving, totally "in the zone," the basketball hoop--invisibly, behind the curtain, with its load of bouncing, hard-plastic balls--drops off the wall and into the ceramic tub.

Half-inch cut, no scar.
