Respect the heel
I read an article some time ago that researchers had decided that "attractive people" were those whose faces were symmetrical (more or less mirror image from one side to the other).
Several weeks ago, I really sliced off a patch of skin about a half inch away from the right corner of my mouth with the heel end of my Maestro Livi 8/8. I was in a hurry and really dug the heel in.
Yesterday, with the same razor, I did the same thing to the corresponding spot on the left side with my left hand. Apparently, I have honed the radius of the heel. I've been using this blade in my regular rotation for several years and it is one of my favorites. I am going to have to get a stone and kill the edge around the curve of the heel, I suppose.
Back to the attractive people part, now that I have matching scars on both sides, I feel pretty!

Respect the heel
Once a blade has tasted blood, it will alway thirst for more!
Coffin it.

Thanks for the tip about the heel. I will have to watch out for that while honing.

Watch out for the toe or point

Never mind the Heel, respect the entire razor!

I guess it depends on the heel. Many custom makers are making pointed heels, along with spike/square points, and you end up with a double spikes like on a shavette. It does seem to complicate matters to a certain degree, as you have to respect two ends instead of one :p
