"no two beards are alike" That is very true! I once sold a razor that I found didn't agree with my beard type to a fellow member of the forum. The next day he told me how he found the edge to be extremely smooth and shaved his beard effortlessly.
Very good article!!
Is there any more to it or is that it?
Thats all of it!
And those yclept noobs ought always to know it is safely averred that the fault of painful and difficult shaving is more frequently caused by the shaver than by the shaving instrument!
Great article and find, Martin.
There is one thing that befuddles me though...
If I humored my wife like I humor my razors, I might end up in hot water. I don't think she'd appreciate electrical tape wrapped around the back of her head, her face passed over a Norton 4/8 repeatedly and then be stropped and tested. I'd end up with nicks and razor burn for sure. :rofl2::roflmao:rofl2::roflmao:rofl2:
Wow, what an awesome article. This makes me want to start writing and responding to emails at work like they did in 1841!
Good info in there too.
Thanks for sharing!
Great article. thank you Martin.
I liked the comparison to wives.
Do you think a set of 7 wives, one for each day (just a small tattoo on their shoulders as a reminder) can improve results?
Bite your tongue, sir! Just the thought of seven wives makes me shudder in terror!
I realize it looks intimidating at first, but remember what they say in the Beginners forum about taming your razors :-)
"We must employ mild and conciliatory measures, and leave the instrument to itself, until it may be pleased to return to its duty; unless, indeed, it be in that condition in which the hone and the strop will restore its power, just as a stimulant judiciously applied, may, perchance, bring a loving wife to her senses."
I'd like to know what exactly that stimulant would be.
How does a 7 day set make a razor used every 8 days?
Maybe after the 7 first days they take a day off. Then they use the Sunday's razor on Monday, the Monday's razor on Tuesday etc. :-)
