A shaving tale! (Long read!)
Greeting gentlemen,
Let me start off by saying that today, I had the best shave of my life. How it happened, well, that deserves a little backstory..
Yesterday evening, as hockey fans are aware, the San Jose Sharks were eliminated from playoff contention by the defending champs, the Los Angeles Kings. Playoff ritual dictates that one must grow their beard until their team is either eliminated or wins it all.
After waking up grumpy, It was time step up to the task. Here's where some members, (rightly), will brand me a heretic. I lathered up and pulled out my triple bladed disposable. I admit, I'd switched back to them for some time, as I'd been having some trouble with the straight razor!
One pass with the disposable and it looked as though all I'd done was soap up the blades. There was no hair to be found! I knew what had to be done. I went into my room & there it was, my trusty C-mon razor. Though it had been neglected for some time, after a stropping, I knew it was ready to cut through the veritable forest of manliness that was my beard. Though the triple bladed monstrosity had failed miserably, I smirked as I relathered and drew the skin on my right cheek skyward..
That familiar sound that us razor fanatics crave truly felt like it was played by a symphony.
Draw by draw, the beard continued to fall. The blade moved in purposeful motions across my face, and soon there were nothing but a handful of straggling hairs that still clinged to my face.
Theirs was a losing battle. They'd only temporarily been aloud to stand, and just as they stood defiant, the full wrath of the blade was upon them.
Victory! There was nothing left on my face but a smile!
Looking at myself in the mirror, I realized two things. One: when I choose to have a drink this evening, I will surely be carded, as I don't look a day above 17 clean shaven. Two: I'll never use a disposable again.
I'm back, SRP, and I'm here to stay!
