Joseph Elliot, reversed C cross C, help with date

Picked this up today at an antique mall. The blade is in great shape at a little over 6/8, full wedge. The fact it has a huge smile makes me also smile. These old smiling wedges and I just get along so well.

I've done some research on here and it seems that this particular Joseph Elliot was in business between 1821-1854?? It should clean up well with a little time and elbow grease. Can't wait to put it back in some horn and get it on my face. Any other info would be great.

Keep an eye on ebay for less popular names. Lots of good wedges and near wedges go for cheap that aren't the "big" named Sheffields. Nice thing about wedges is there's lots of metal to play with. You can get away with buying something more heavily rusted and still get it back to a well shaving razor. Just be careful of rust on the edge. That's when the razor can start to get small during restoration.
