Fathers Day treat - Grandads razors - but need some help with ID.

Awsome score on the weekend for Fathers Day.
My father gave me his father's shavers & brush.
1st item - is a Gillette DE made in England #58 from what I can find on the web but it has no box so don't know if it is the 1953 Corrination limited edition but it is in awsome condition
2nd item - the brush is a Butterfly pure Brissle - looks like boar and about as stiff as a broom compared to my badger brush
3nd item -is a bit of a mystery to me - it is a Merx & Co. 250 Gamerx I am shure this is how it reads

I have only been able to find 1 Merx & Co on SRP & 1 on Ebay that was a #119 but not the Gamerx?

So my question is, does anyone know anything about this razor at all or the Merx Company?

since as the DE is a from around 1953 I am assuming it would be older than that, as my old boy said he remembers my Granddad shaving with it "shacking like he was sh!ting razor blades" in the mornings when he was very young, after the usual nightly liver work out.

It also has a 3 pin set up but no wedge, has anyone seen this before either?

any help would be greatly appreciated

I only know it is no older than 1922 as that is when the Merx Co. is meant to have started making straights.

Seems very likely that this razor was made by G. A. Merx, Wald Solingen, like the one pictured below.

When you put the name together you get Gamerx. G. Adolf Merx trademark from the late 1800's was a sleigh driver whipping a horse followed by 2 dogs.

Sounds like the company started as G.A. Merx, and later on to Merx & co.

Thanks Martin I also found those images & details after Sharptonn informed me of "GAMERX" being a joined name. I have alos found a "GAM" and 1 other "250 GAMerx" Faux MOP celluloid Scales & Solingen inlayed in them on a couple of French & German sights with a bit of Google Translate

3rd is a 119 Merx & Co. which is not so happy & ready for retirement I think

Nice razor that Merx & Co, i have one and must say a great shaver when you got the wright edge on it..

Kalerolf, When you say the "right edge" are you indicating it is something different to the bevel set by the spine or standard 18º i read about if I use tape
as i have only given it a quick polish & few light passes on my Barbers hone without tape & a quick strop to see how the egde is fairing and it seems like a bit more stropping and it will be shave ready.
the Old boy told me he got it honed by a barber many many years ago when he tried to use it, but never could get the hang of it (problem with the same shakes my Granddad had I think :beer2:) mincing his face.
If he had something like SRP to get all the hints etc I'm sure he would have stuck it out.
Does yours have the pin with no wedge set up as well??
