I bought this Leblond on eBay from Estonia and it arrived today.
The blade looks really good but the seller was good at hiding the flaws in the photographs as there are some chips in the scales.
That is easily fixed though with some CA glue and progressive grits of sandpaper.
Nice razor overall though and I am anxious to see how French steel shaves. ;)

I heated up a pin and touched it to that damaged area and it smelled like hair burning so I assume it has horn scales.
Nice find. I'll be she is a sweet shaver. It does not look like horn to me because it seems to uniform in color but I am frequently wrong. Enjoy.
My main concern would be,the 124 side of that blade looks like cell rot,if truley horn,is not an issue.
Thats not horn tho.
What makes you think it's not horn pixelfixed?
It has lines running through whatever material it is. It is not smooth like plastics.Quote:

Looks like bakelite scales to me, I would say definitely not horn, I can see by looking at the texture of the scales where the surface as started to come away.
I was thinking bakelite too....
