Has anyone got any hints as to how I should tackle its curved cutting edge, when I get around to honing it?

Watch gssixgun's vid on honing a smiling blade.
Heel forward swooping stroke and rolling x stroke is where I would start.
With marker on it to make sure I was getting the entire bevel.
I for one will always look closely at the blade geometry and can usually decipher what is needed.
I will almost always use the marker test on an unfamiliar vintage blade.

I figured a rolling X might be needed. The marker test's always useful to do, as well. I'll give the video a viewing, and take your hints onboard. Thanks. :)

Good luck,
and let us know your progress.

Well, 100 sweeps and rolling X strokes on the 1K King gave me a damn fine bevel... and this was confirmed by a test shave. Another 60 laps on the 6K hone side, followed by 60 strokes on the CrOX, 60 on the hide, and 60 on the leather. Can't wait for tomorrow. :)
