some folks have all the luck:tu
By far the sexiest blade in town. Try to find a donor razor for the original ATOR scales. Just take care with that Bakalite its mighty fragile
Here's my attempt in de-pinning a ATOR bakalite scale. In three seconds they were gone.
Har!!!

Before I smashed them my buddy asked me so are you gonna break them or are you gonna send them to me to break? I thought he was kidding up until the end popped off. Its bad enough its bakalite added to the nightmare the fact that there gunstock scales so there even more narrow then an average scale.
Oh yeah... I can't see ANY hone wear on this either..
I mean maybe it was sharpened ONCE....
I have a perfect 5/8 front scale and need a rear one. Perhaps you could find one opposite?
A fact about Ator scales: 6/8 ones are (very slightly) larger than 5/8 ones. They are marked inside the scales with 5 8 or 6 8. The 6/8 blade will go fine in the 5/8 scales, though!
Tightened the pins, cleaned it up ever so slightly and put it to the hones.
Shaved with it today and WOW!
One of the BEST shaves I have gotten!
Right up there with my Goldedge (my go to)
SMOOTH, NICK FREE, BBS!
I LIKE IT!
I give this razor :tu :tu
So I just won another Ator. :tu
Original scales... so lets see if I can NOT break them.
If I get them off maybe I will TRY and do a mold of it and see what they turn out like?....
So I received my razor today and couldn't wait to un pin this bad boy:
Tarkus... it wasn't so bad... it came apart pretty easy if you ask me... :p

Seriously though... I took my time because of the warnings about how brittle these are.
About 30 minutes later and here ya go..........
I am going to see if I can make a casting of these and MAKE a set or two....
Be careful whackin them back together, Chev! Esp at the top!
So are they 5/8 or 6/8??
Weird! Yours must be later? All I have seen have 5 8 or 6 8 under!

Maybe someone already had this apart and sanded it away?
Is your wedge glued in place?
Matters not! Get it together! ;)
I am going to try and cast a set or two. :dropjaw:
Chev now that's gonna be a killer ATOR. Nothing like those scales to make a killer blade even more impressive.
Cant wait to see the final result.
Heck if you start cranking out replicas from your moldings. Me thinks you'll have a market forever from us ham fisted types. (The when in doubt smack it harder types)
