Finally got my 3rd mug for my porcelain mug/brush collection
Very nice! I've been waiting to see a nice set in my local antique stores haven't gotten lucky yet
Congrats robert. That is a beautiful collection. I have never come across any of the set in my hunts. Enjoy.
Thanks... It took a while to get all the ones that i wanted... They make one set like the center one but it has flying ducks and they make one that is gold plated 24k ... Saw once online and they wanted way too much money... The handles on the brushes are very delicate... I broke another cream and gold one and it was a sad day! Lol
So i have been a bit hesitant to replace the knot on the center one! So far i have 50% success rate with porcelain
I've read somewhere on here of soaking them in acetone will remove the knot without hurting the finish...
I might have to try that... The vice method doesnt work! Lol!!! Only on metal handles... Last one i did i did with a drill and dremel and very careful! Took several days! Worth it doe!
Ok...

100% acetone soak worked perfectly! 2 mins in it and boom! Pull right off! Thanks for the advise
Where do you find these things, Robert?
The brush ?
I found at a random antique store that i decided to stop! I ask and they said they had no shaving stuff! Across the register there was the scuttle and this brush inside... 6.95 for both! Score! I looked at the guy like! Really!?
The process someone told me here and i was hesitant because of the paint but google some more and people that do pottery porcelain stuff uses acetone daily to remove glues! So i gave it a world
