Lucky for me. ;)
Cheers Ed. I didnt buy it as an investment, I want to enjoy it, and if I keep cutting myself it will likely just end up in a drawer, which in my opinion is far worse than blunting a corner slightly. Ive read that its just a case of rubbing the corner on glass or something, but will bring to the Brisbane meetup and get someone experienced to help.
For the W&B barbers use models / variants, is this a good one or a common basic model?
Nice razors. As far as FBUs I've got 3 and they all have the notch point, barber's notch, call it what you like. I've had one FBU square point and I've seen one other, but that is about it, until these two. Not that I've seen anywhere near all of the FBUs, but I think the notch point is the more common variety.
As to muting points. I would never do it myself, I leave them as close to like I find them as I can. OTOH, I wouldn't turn one down because the point has been muted. I learned early on to always be aware of where the point is. I've gotten bit in front of the ear a time or two but like the cat that Mark Twain describes, that jumped on the hot coal stove lid, he never did again. :)
