Very nice. The spine work on that one is quite unique. I would keep an eye on those scales. I think every razor I have seen with scales like those had cell rot, beginning or advanced. That doesn't mean those will, but just keep an eye on it cause that is a nice razor.
What a way to start the day with a customer. I am crazy about that model Horstator. So does this customer go on your free haircut and shave list? : )
Yea, definitely top quality classic Solingen razor. How do you live with yourself? ;)
Bob
Dude! Did you make a deal with the devil, or something?!!?
:dropjaw:
What a great looking razor. :medvl:
No signs of cell rot whatsoever, couple specs of patina on the tang but zero rust in the scale area, and cell rot tends to start on the metal nearest to the celluloid. I loooove the spine work, very unique and deep.
Gave him $40 and 2 free haircuts :-)
That patina on the tang was more like dirt, wiped off with cloth and oil when I oiled the blade and put it up and the "patina" came off...one of my new favorites! love spine worked blades sooo much
I want to know where all of your customers are getting these blades from...
Me too! He said he helped a friend move once and the guy said he could have this one, the customer is in his 70's
