I've gotten a couple of those too but not enough.

Supposed to be 8/8 and it is in excellent shape.
Another one eh!
You must have a stack of them by now.
It looks like it should recover nicely.
Hooboy. Lots of work in store! :D
That should turn out nicely Paul. Good stuff!!
Yeah, this makes 7 I think, at least 7 just of the W&B's. I also have a Freddie but it is honed out and when I say honed out I mean honed out.

Shame too because that's the only one of it's kind I've ever seen.
Yep Tom, lots of work but this new one is probably in the best physical condition of any I've ever bought and it was bought to turn over...although I've said THAT before. I'll have to treat it like a puppy or a livestock bunny and not name it.
Sorry it took so long Paul, my neighbor had trouble finding it.
Frederick Reynolds it is!

He told me that the customer that gave it to him some 20 years ago was in his 70's and told him that it was his fathers and he remembered him using it.
I am told now that I have to keep it. He will never use it.
He's given me quite a few over the years, many from customers of his that were inherited.

And yet ANOTHER FBU...AND what looks like an Anchor razor...
Attachment 351621
...plus some other cool looking stuff.
Reminds me of the lot of oldies I got a few years back. Nice grab, Paul.
You know, that's more or less what I'd guessed, glad to see it written black on white. This side of the pond, they are grossly overpriced since they are rarer. (7-day sets with changeable blades are cheaper...)
For the price you pay a FBU here, i'd rather buy a Lund or a Weiss.
And yes, while I'm still missing a big large chunky heavy blade in my rotation, I'm just waiting for a bona fide Magnum Bonum
Time is on my side.
But in your shoes, I might do the same :)
Anyhow, once again, nice finds lately ;)
Not sure yet. I haven't seen them yet and the pictures weren't very good. I'll let you know as soon as I see em.
Got The Army Razor in. The blade is in great shape. No hone wear at all.

Those scales have a buttload of bug bites.

They're still really transluscent though, even as dries up and bug bit they are.
Big project.
Very doable.
Nice when it's finished.
Looks like it's been laying around in a cupboard untouched all these decades. Very nice find Paul.
Thanks Mick. That was exactly what I thought. Probably never really used, sat in a drawer, got found and sent to be sold.
It looks like you have been scouring out all the nice old choppers Paul. That large lot is most intriguing. The army razor is a good project, deep but good.
So that lot of choppers came in today. Still kind of processing. The FBU is not as awesome as I had hoped but that other great big thing is intriguing. It turns out it's not an anchor. It's actually a Wm. Stenton & Son Again Superior with "Ne Plus Ultra" etched on the blade face.

Attachment 351665
It's a healthy 19/16" big ol' whopper. Not in bad condition considering. That chip sucks but...whatever.
The scales are wrong, probably caused the chip. It wouldn't even close.
Attachment 351666
What the HELL they were thinking I can't even guess. The first thing I did was pull those off, well, aside from scraping a little rusty funk off the etching so I could read it.
It will clean up well though. Here's after a few minutes of cleaning with the 3M Marine on a rag.

That one is a Joseph Elliott Universally Approved Best Silver Steel, V(crown)R Mike.

Scales are rough but fixable.
I have had two stentons, one big one, still have it. The scales that came with it and probably original, were was too small. The wedge seems quite odd also. I remade the scales and with the original wedge was not anything I wanted, so now it has nice new bone scales.
Oh, this one is definitely getting the treatment. It's going to live up to its name once I'm done.
Alright.! What else in there. ?
?...?...?...?
Attachment 351670
Surprised that you have no Stenton Again Superior, Cheetah! You can toss it in the yard and it will sprout bat-wings and mow down all the weeds, sparing the grass!
This is the one made by death-row prisoners in old New York. Dealt by river pirates in the old Stenton stead in the secret lead-lined room.
It will hunt down your enemies.
Cut their throat! :rofl2:
Special ones have had the Masonic symbols erased and have been given to the devil's laser edge with Rezdog picbone scales.
Known to turn on their owners, nothing good shall come of it!! :dropjaw:
Attachment 351739
Speaking of Stenton's with Masonic etching Tom. I have this Sam Lawton with an etch exactly like some Stentons I've seen advertised as Masonic...

...but I don't see any of the familiar Masonic symbols. I asked my brother who was a Mason, (still is I guess although he hasn't been a practicing/participating one for a long time) and he said he didn't think it was. Does anyone know for sure if this is or isn't a Masonic etch?

So far it looks to be a decent piece of equipment. I'll give more review once I try it out.

I'm hopeful for this Keemun. The last Hao Ya A that I bought was expensive but disappointing
Maybe a fun project for the grandkids!
Purchased one to get dimensions and airfoil design for making more.
This one is made from polycarbonate - indestructible so should last a lifetime. there a video of the guy throwing it full out against a rock numerous times.
It is "tuned" to fly 93-114 yards. Thats a long way to throw anything!!
Would be fun for Turkey hunting too.

OVB 385 11/16
That ovb (Our Very Best) is a nice contract razor. German made, I would say made by Böker by the look of them but there is usually a tree logo somewhere on their contract stuff which i havent seen on the ovb. Could be an Ern though also. Ern did a tremendous amount of contract grinding.
