A blade and scales that work so well together is not so common. Yours is the exception! Congratulations!!

That razor is making me drool. At which point does it cross the line and become a museum piece?
While visiting my Dad in CA, I saw he had an old craftsman Scroll Saw. I had never seen it before. He said his brother bought it and used it on one project. Then it sat for a few years and he gave it to my Dad. Dad used it for a couple small projects. He wanted to give it to me but it wasn't going to fit in a box and ship for a very good price so I told him I'll get one someday in the near future as it would work so well with making scales. I cut them out by hand.
Yesterday this came in the mail...

I guess he wanted to buy me one before I bought one. It's an Off Brand but the reviews seem to be pretty good. Well, I guess now the only reason I have for not making some scales soon is it's too damn cold outside. :)
That is a great gift! Wen was one of the pioneers of small home shop tools and their little wet knife sharpener/grinders can be awesome!
The scroll saw will have a pull-up component if you feed it too fast but the things do cut nicely for our use. Blade choice will be a learning experience; not very fine, 8-12 teeth per inch would be a good start. HF has some assortments for cheap.
Have fun! They can be a winner.

I just had the best shave ever by a straight razor. I just got my new razor in the mail today, a NOS vintage chemical steel kamisori 7/8 . It has a heavier weight which made it a lot easier for shaving my bald head. Nothing is better than seeing progress in a hobby that is a lost skill of sorts. Thanks for all the advice on the forum gentlemen.
Thanks for the info Richard. I know i will need some blades but had no idea where to start. Now i do.
Razor that is something special as i believe, a piece of colonial history and maybe one of tha last of its kind as i got it NOS, a 11/16" Razor from the Anglo Siam Corporation Ltd. Singapore. Does anyone have a clou how old it might be?
