I just pulled the trigger on 10pcs Gold Dollar 200, the cheapest stainless model that GD makes, from a reseller on AliExpress. I want to check them out before placing an order from the factory and being stuck with 100 of them if they suck. These have essentially the same blade as the 800, but same cheesy ABS scales as the 66, 100, 208, etc. If they make me happy, I will list them and maybe add them to my regular product line. Standard shipping so it will be a few weeks before I get them.
Meanwhile I have set a preliminary coarse bevel on the three Titans I got the other day but I need to go to the boat and get my dial caliper and measure the bevel angle before proceeding with honing. I will say this, though... the ACRO steel is plenty hard stuff. I mean REALLY hard. Titan's ad copy isn't exaggerating on that. The ACRM-2 razor and the VG-10 razor were easier to manage but still every bit as hard as the hardest Solingen razor I have honed and considerably harder than the GDs I have been honing so many of recently. The grinding was pretty lousy, though. And just because steel is hard doesn't necessarily mean it makes a great razor. Jury isn't just still out... they still haven't even seen all the evidence yet.
