I don't mean to pry, but do you happen to know what the scales are made of? The texture of the inside makes me think micarta with the exterior carved to give it that distinctive appearance. :)

Wow-That is truly a one of a kind razor. I got to see and handle several of his wicked blades at the Asheville meetup. A true artist and a nice guy too!
After meeting Charlie I think a buried side of his personality comes forth in his work,
and I have to say I like that side.
Gorgeous piece mixing rough and refined, the way the scales pick up on the more natural forged sections.
And those jimps. stunning detail, an awesome heirloom, one of a kind for sure.
