As long as you are careful and work around the crack at the pin everything should work out fine. I've dipped scales in 90% rubbing alcohol after a good scrubbing with liquid dish soap and warm water to remove any residue left then used a drop or two of super glue to hold scales like this together. it will take some sanding but it can be done.
The blade should be fine, if I think that there may be a problem with finding good solid steel at the edge, I always hone a blade 1st to see what I'm working with.
With that said, here's what I managed to pull off with only sandpaper and a small electric palm sander and Mothers Mag Wheel Polish. It was in far worse shape than what you have in hand! :hmmm:
