No-Name razor ID help, please

This little razor just arrived in the mail, and I'm wondering if anyone has any idea of its origins.

The blade measures 21/32", but I guess that's 5/8", nominally. The only markings are the ones visible on the blade's show face. There are jimps on the underside of the tang, and they're kind of odd: they're rather crude, and extend back onto a rather abrupt transition into the tail. There's also a tiny notch above the heel...it appears to be original to the blade. The scales are Bakelite, or some similar material. It arrived wicked sharp.

Except for the lack of some markings, my razor sure does resemble the Kukri razors in the thread that you cited. And it's reassuring that the brand apparently shaves well. I'm anxious to give it a whirl.

You're right, sharptonn, they're very similar shapes, and the engraving is similar, too.

I like the comments about the razor being "smooth", "sleek", and "elegant"; I decided to buy it based on its sexy style. And I'm really pleased that you found yours to be a fine shaver!

I'm thinking turn of the century up to the 20's. MAGNETIC was a buzz word of that era.

I had one at one point. I never did find out who it was made by. It is a good razor, took and held an edge well. I have several no names that I doubt I will ever know who made them. Three are marked made in Soligen and one Sheffield. Oddly enough they all take an edge very well. The Sheffield as been living with son #2 for some time. It happens to be his favorite and hasn't been touched up for some time. I suspect this is not an uncommon story as so many were made for being hardware store or barber supply branding that never did get a brand. So far I have not experience any bad ones, but there are still so many to try. Happy shaving.
